East London is home (again) – Bottle Apostle opens fourth shop & announces fifth location
Date: 7th May, 2015
Hackney-based Bottle Apostle wine merchant sticks to its East London roots with the opening of their fourth shop. Situated in East Village within the former Olympic Athlete’s Village, Bottle Apostle brings its award-wining independent wine shop to this distinctive East London community on Saturday 23rd May, 2015.
“We opened our first shop in East London, so it only felt natural to open our fourth shop with a tribute to where it all started. East Village represents an entirely new way of living in London, and we’re ecstatic to be able to be a part of this change.”says owner Andrew Eakin.
Following the success of their previous shops, East Village will offer a range of over 550 wines, a distinctive spirits range, craft beers and premium sakes. The new store will be equipped with 16 wines to try at any time using their unique Enomatic® tasting machines which allows visitors to sample from various regions, styles and grape varieties. Bottle Apostle’s emphasis on “trying before you buy” creates a low-risk approach to wine buying and provides customers with a chance to explore wines at their own pace. Supporting this is an eclectic range of wines, all of which are colour-coded, food-matched and concisely described with the additional support of highly knowledgeable staff.
For those seeking some wine education or a more formal approach to wine; East Village will also house in-store tutored tastings, themed events and its signature in-store “Free Friday Tastings”. An impressive 12 foot-long tasting table will host their in-store events and invites all tasters to grab a glass, take a seat and simply enjoy the 16 wines in their Enomatic® tasting machines.
East Village will also be home to Bottle Apostle’s craft beer and cider spin-off, The Brew Testament. Located within every Bottle Apostle shop, this side-arm gives craft beers and ciders their own space to shine. Combined with its craft spirits and premium sake selection, Bottle Apostle undoubtedly brings a comprehensive offering to East Village.
“East Village’s focus on building a distinctly independent community was a major draw to us. We have always opened shops in areas in which residents share this love of the independent spirit. It’s this idea that has led to our successes in our Hackney, Crouch End and Clapham shops”, adds Eakin.
Bottle Apostle’s expansion has come at a time when Londoners are craving more independent wine merchants. So much so, that in a surprise announcement, Bottle Apostle has also revealed a fifth location due to open this summer. More details will follow after the opening of their highly anticipated #4thApostle shop this month.
