A "best of both worlds" style of Chardonnay. The 6 months oak and lees aging are certainly evident, with the nose showing hefty aromas of freshly-baked bread, toast and peanuts, but this doesn't mean that Haines has compromised on freshness. There's lively acid here, and the palate introduces crystal clear flavours of zingy pineapple and lemon zest with a pleasant savoury finish.
